Our Story
It all started months before they met. Jeni thought that it would be a great idea to date the roommate of her best friend's boyfriend. How fun it would be to have roommates dating roommates. When Jeni found out who this roommate would be, she was a bit concerned. Not only was his name Hubert but he was traveling with his band and could not be reached. Hmmm… a guy named Hubert that is traveling with his band. He must play the accordion and be in a church band or something. When Jeni's best friend finally met him, they decided that it might still work out. He was actually kinda cool and played the guitar.
The day was set for Matt and Jeni to finally meet and it was not love at first sight. Neither one seemed to really care for the other. This idea of Jeni's just wasn't going to work. On their second visit, Matt changed his mind and decided that he wanted to get to know Jeni better. Jeni was not changing her mind at all. A few weeks later Jeni's best friend was having a birthday party and her boyfriend was coming down. He brought his roommate Matt with him and finally it was love at third site!
Five years later, Matt popped the question. They were on vacation in the Dominican Republic when Matt just had to see the sunset on the first night. On the flight down Matt explained to Jeni how he just wasn't ready to get engaged yet and we were just too young. Of course Jeni's hopes of someday marrying Matt, were crushed. After landing, all Jeni wanted to do was lay down but everyone seemed to be telling her that she should go watch that sun set. They went down to the beach like they had done many times and sat in the same place as usual. As they sat in the sand, Matt pulled out a box and Jeni thought that this was just another one of his cruel jokes as he had done this many times before. This time was different. Matt had a beautiful ring in the box. Even with the ring on her hand, Jeni still thought that it was a fake ring but sure enough it was real. They went back to the house to tell the family and had a wonderful vacation!
